So I'm sitting here in the WCC at AC at one of the public terminals and it's all very strange. Freshman are moving in today and people keep asking me if I need help finding anything. I just look at them like they're loony. Got to see Neli - yay - but no earthquake cake. Apparently Kathleen is out of town and no one else knows how to make it. And no cook books either. I'm going to Todd and Jackie's at 4 and that'll be nice and then we're swinging through Celina and picking up Paula Jo. I'm so excited to see her - haven't seen her since New Year's Day or spoken with her since the day before my birthday. And we're meeting Rach's boyfriend... it will be a very very full day.

I'm in Dallas, I'm in Dallas and with Lisa, and with Lisa; tomorrow we're going to Sherman tomorrow we're going to Sherman, and have earthquake cake, and have earthquake cake....

Why should I never be allowed to play the piano? Because I inevitably end up playing Little Fall of Rain from Les Mis and find myself sniffing and getting all teary-eyed as I play and sing. Sigh. I swear, every single time, for the past 13 years, every single time I hear that song I can't help but be all emotional. Damn Marius.

Mom was pretty good today, she passed the next test so that's a plus! Unfortunately after the test she was feeling nauseous (I so don't think I spelled that right) and they gave her drugs that only mostly knocked her out which meant she could still feel pain but couldn't process how to fix it (hit her morphine button) and got pretty upset. Seeing your mom in pain and upset really not on my top ten list of fun ways to spend your break. Didn't get moved into a new room so she's still in that small space with nothing to distract her to help keep her mind of the pain. Hopefully tomorrow she'll get moved into a room and then get to come home Thursday!

Gotta go wait... don't wanna wait. My stomach's already starting to churn. Arrrggg... this is really no fun. I'm off to the hospital, will be there till tomorrow. My mom wants me to spend the night with her there so of course I am. Maybe I'll get some Placher done, after she's out of surgery of course. No way I could concentrate while she is still in it.

Why is it that gay men are just so adorable? My mom taped Queer Eye and I've watched several episodes I hadn't seen and they are just too cute. I mean really, only one of them is cute in that purely "he's fun" way. They others are all on varying degress of srcumptious. And they're so flaming, and yet...

Stupid stupid evil awful going-to-hell-if-there-was-one Bush. I'm mean does anyone not evil decide to create a new evdevour called "Blue Sky" that lets power plants NOT have scrubbers in their large polluting smoke stakes?

Speaking of songs, I've had a horrible one stuck in my head all day, thanks to Noell.... I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever write a song about the Sibbie... And now that I'm back in the computer lab and so are other people, I'm tempted to sing it... but Teri and Andy are here too and I don't think they'd appreciate my singing any more than others would.

When people are in small public spaces where work is being done, they should not sing contemporary Christian tunes off key. It just shouldn't happen. And they shouldn't keep going and going so that I get the damn song stuck in my head. Just saying...

Hmmmm... Talk shows about who's your baby's daddy are so amusing... Well, more amusing than say looking at Greek and pretending to care.

I haven't been to Greek at all this week, haven't done the homework, haven't looked at my vocab cards (though I did make them)... I apparently enjoy pushing myself to the limit - see how little I can do for the class and still ace the quizzes. Let's hope I'm successful in doing well this week otherwise I may actually have to worry a little about the final.

From the makers of how crazy are you comes Dante's Inferno Test... here are my results.

Your fate has been decided....
You are one of the lucky ones! Because of your virtue and beliefs, you have escaped eternal punishment. You are sent to Purgatory!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You have escaped damnation and made it to Purgatory, a place where the dew of repentance washes off the stain of sin and girds the spirit with humility. Through contrition, confession, and satisfaction by works of righteousness, you must make your way up the mountain. As the sins are cleansed from your soul, you will be illuminated by the Sun of Divine Grace, and you will join other souls, smiling and happy, upon the summit of this mountain. Before long you will know the joys of Paradise as you ascend to the ethereal realm of Heaven.

Here is how you matched up against all the levels:

Level Who are sent there? Score
Purgatory Repenting Believers High
Level 1 - Limbo Virtuous Non-Believers Moderate
Level 2 Lustful Moderate
Level 3 Gluttonous Moderate
Level 4 Prodigal and Avaricious Very Low
Level 5 Wrathful and Gloomy Low
Level 6 - The City of Dis Heretics Very Low
Level 7 Violent Low
Level 8- the Malebolge Fraudulent, Malicious, Panderers Low
Level 9 - Cocytus Treacherous Very Low

Do-be-do-be-do...

People should not go around beating up Cookie Monster. Lee Purcell McPhatter should be ashamed of himself. No more ashamed than Charlie Rose should be. The man had two other men on his show today and they were talking about the Kobe Bryant case. Both are apparently high profile attorneys. They also both were borderline disrespectful to to the victim, or alleged victim, whatever. Like they wanted to be just flat out rude but knew they were on national television so weren't. One of them made a point and the other agreed that a "decent" percentage of rape charges turn out to be that the woman wished she hadn't afterwards and so tried to claim it was rape. They didn't have numbers or anything, just "a decent" percentage. They said this as though it cleared Kobe from the allegations. Bastards. Usually I like Charlie Rose but not today, though he did try and keep them in check after they agreed on the "decent" percentage. Still, he definitly should have had a woman on his little panel, it might have seemed somewhat more balanced then.

Well, spent the last extra cash I'm ever going to spend today... no more movies (except American Wedding with Noell of course), no more going out - not that I've been doing a lot of that lately, and no more music, again, not that I've been doing a lot of that either. Unfortunately, even with all the saving I'll still be super poor... Going to go and talk with Robin about loan possibilities tomorrow. Uck. Debt... not a fan but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Tillie keeps leaving us "presents" on the doorstep. They scare me. But she's so proud and I guess that's her way of being sweet, I can't get mad at her. I refuse to eat it though.
